Roel Wielinga, an Artist and Illustrator, is a master of his craft. Born to Dutch parents on the island of Java, Indonesia in 1950, Roel's artistic abilities were evident from an early age. He expanded on his talents throughout his school life and later spent 20 years in the US Air Force as a Graphic Illustrator.

Upon retirement, Roel became a professional computer illustrator, honing his skills in a variety of apps such as Illustrator, Photoshop, Painter, and Dreamweaver.

He has worked with numerous publishers, commercial graphics companies, and commercial t-shirt and silk screen design firms. Roel's artwork has undergone a transformation from "on board" manual illustrations to computer graphics, making him a true master of the digital age.

Roel is a McDuffie Arts Council member and displays his artwork at the MAC on Main Art Gallery in Thomson, GA. His pursuit of mastery continues in Fine Art, Book Illustrations, Game Character Designs, and Comics. Roel's talent and dedication are apparent in every piece he creates.

Roel is not alone in his passion for art. He is married to Marian G, a retired art teacher and Fine Artist herself. Together, they reside and work out of Roel's art studio, "Studio De Phantasm," located in Thomson, GA.
