Linda Mencken Murphy’s brain has to create! Whether she’s involved in a painting, creating collage papers to use in the paintings, or designing in Procreate on her iPad. It’s essential to her well-being!

Vibrant colors are the passion from which she creates. While her work is predominately abstract, some people and landscape items may appear at random.

Linda has a passion for anything in South Carolina. She was born in Charleston and grew up in Augusta. All of her extended family was in South Carolina so travel to South Carolina was constant for every event. Many trips to Lake Murray, Charleston, and Folly Beach molded her childhood. She graduated from Newberry College in Newberry SC and continued life as a wife, mother, teacher, and now a “Giddy” to 6 precious grandchildren!

Linda has studied with some local artists as well as Nicholas Wilton in the Creative Visionary Program, which is an intensive 4-month online workshop. She is an alumnus of this program and is currently enrolled for the 3rd time.
